Pictures from the 2009 Balloon Lift Off and from TCF Annual Meeting in

Portland

In June we honored our children in a very special balloon lift off ceremony. We each wrote a message to our child on butterfly

paper and attached the butterfly note to our balloons. When the messages are completed, the group walked to our

Compassionate Friends memorial bench and garden area which is close to the church. There we joined in a Circle for a

reading, say our child's name, and listen to the bagpipes playing as we released our balloons. This is a very touching

ceremony that gives a feeling that, somehow, we have communicated with our child on this special day in June.

The Schurmans and Whitehills attended the Annual TCF Meeting in Portland.  Pictures of many of our children were carriedin
